Confidence is the inner quality that gives us the determination to reach our goals. It is the inner assurance of our abilities to accomplish the task before us. There are many factors in our lives that contribute to our confidence. Our good experiences can strengthen our confidence, whereas painful ones can weaken us. But whether strong or weak, we can build confidence in ourselves. We have to live true even in the face of difficult circumstances. Fear is one of the main factor that can prevent us from feeling confident.
When we have a good family atmosphere and the opportunity to have the necessary education and good friends, we can have healthy self-confidence. It can also be gained from experience, wealth and beauty. It is important to know that every person has the potential for happiness. We can build confidence, by prayer, reading religious scriptures, helping others and visiting sacred places.
We need confidence in every area of our lives. Whether, it is professional, parental, physical, mental or emotional; it is the knowledge we have of ourselves that we can do what we need to do. But confidence can be gained when we take steps to improve our lives. We have to be aware that fear is not interfering in our lives to restrict us from moving forward. If you suspect you are dealing with fears in your life, then try to face it. This can really affect your confidence. Rage and anger are other ways of expressing fear.
Learning new things that you love and enjoy builds self-confidence. Creative skills can enhance the image you have of yourself. Anything that you learn to create, will help you to discover your true self. You might even find out that, you did not know you are so skillful in certain areas. You may have good mechanic skills, making crafts or technical expertise. The ability to believe in ourselves continues to improve as we gain more experience in different areas of our lives. You will able to develop and follow ways of thinking which will enhance your life and the ones you love.
However, there comes a time when this confidence can be severely threatened. This confidence can be lost forever we once experience, if we are not careful. It can be damaged by sudden unforeseen adverse circumstances; like the death of someone close to you, financial problems, betrayal and losing friends are some of the factors that can affect your confidence. There are times when you suppress fear totally because you feel powerless in a situation, It is wise to examine if you have any fears. Fears can make you unaware of your true nature.
When we realize that whatever negative situation we are dealing with is only temporary, we can take steps to regain a healthy emotional life. Try to free yourself from people who cause you to feel fearful. Keep away from places or news that you are not happy about. By reading helpful books, and different religious scriptures, meeting people you trust and respect will help you in a lot of ways.
To have true confidence in yourself, it has to start from within. By seeking spiritual help, practicing meditation and forget the past to embrace the future you can overcome obstacles and build confidence. Confidence has its source from integrity. Spiritual knowledge is most important to build confidence. The more we do what is right, the better we feel about ourselves, and the less we have to worry. By respecting others, being faithful in your work and those around you are all foundations for being confident in yourself.
